Flood Defence & Protection Products
Sandbags and Hydrosacks/Hydrosnakes

Sandbags and Hydrosacks can be your first line of defence in the case of a flood. These should be placed at every door, window and airbrick in your property to hold back flood water and protect your property. Sandbags are the more traditional method of flood defence. They remain popular because they are cheap, easy to use and are an effective way to protect your property. All you need to do is build a wall of sandbags, with each layer overlapping the one below. Remember to stamp sandbags down to eliminate any gaps. You may also want to cover the wall with plastic sheeting for additional waterproofing. As an alternative to sandbags, Hydrosacks are the state-of-the-art choice for flood protection. While Hydrosacks are more expensive than sandbags, they are easier to handle, especially when wet. Simply place a layer of Hydrosacks in front of your property and each sack will absorb up to 20 litres of water. The water then crystallises, so it will not come out again. Even if the Hydrosack is pierced, it will not let the water out.

Flood Gates and Stanchions
Flood gates and stanchions are an effective method of flood protection. They are quick and easy to install, do not require permanent fitting and effectively hold back flood water. A single flood gate can fit most doors, while the stanchion system allows several flood gates to be fitted together. This can then create a single, continuous barrier. Flood gates can be fitted to external and internal doors, to protect your property as a whole or to minimise damage in the event of serious flooding. Using the stanchion, you can quickly create a large barrier for a garage door or a commercial driveway. Flood gates and stanchions are a great product to protect your home or business during a flood.

Flood Barriers
Flood barriers can be deployed quickly and easily, and can be used to protect a driveway, garage door or entire building from flooding. These flood barriers are quickly deployed and, for large scale flood protection, are most cost effective than sandbags and other methods of flood protection. They can also be recycled and reused, unlike sandbags. They are highly flexible, and can be deployed anywhere. Flood barriers also only need one person to assemble them, and are self-balancing. They do not need to bolted into place to provide flood protection. Flood barriers can protect your business from flooding, and can also be used to get a better deal on flood insurance.

Flood Barriers
There are a range of domestic building and plumbing accessories available to protect your home from flooding. This includes products to prepare your home for potential flooding, as well as products to use when flooding has started. Drain Sealers, for example, can be fitted at any time. It allows water to flow through normally, but seals it when sewers begin to back up. This can protect your property from flood damage, and save you a nasty cleaning job. A Toilet Seal can be quickly deployed after a flood warning. This will create a seal on your downstairs toilet, to prevent flood water from back flowing. Flooding can often cause sewers to back up, and cleaning up after this can be worse than the original flood. That is why you should ensure your home is prepared for flooding. After all, once a flood warning has been given it is too late to begin planning and preparing for the flood.
